Retailers have been making headline news as of late, and not for good reason. It seems like every other week we hear about a new big name retailer shuttering. I’m here to tell you that retailers are not all dying, but their stubbornness to adapt is costing them.
Consider those retail brands who are flourishing: Starbucks, Domino’s, and ASOS. What do they have in common? They all bet big on digital - namely mobile. Despite some operational struggles, Starbucks has seen an increase in profits ever since introducing mobile ordering. Domino’s is not suffering the same downward fate as its pizza peers - and is enjoying growth while seeing 60% of all orders executed on digital platforms. ASOS is seeing 50% of all revenue coming from mobile orders.
If the above isn’t compelling enough, consider the following:
72% of consumers think that mobile apps make shopping easier (ATYM) [Tweet this stat!]
Consumers are downloading more retail apps YoY and have between 6 and 10 retail apps on their smartphone (eMarketer) [Tweet this stat!]
58% of millennials say they used apps more often than the mobile web (eMarketer) [Tweet this stat!]
89% of retailers plan to give their store associates mobile solutions over the next 3 years (Retail Dive) [Tweet this stat!]
Despite still being very under invested, mobile devices drove roughtly $2 trillion in sales in 2016 (GeoMarketing) [Tweet this stat!]
The opportunity for retailers to win big with mobile is there. Now it’s time to put a plan into place to execute. But where do you start? Join myself and Localytics’ CMO Josh Todd for a webinar on June 6th @ 11AM EST as we discuss 7 mobile app marketing strategies for retailers. You’ll learn:
