eTail East is Coming to Town!

Read Time: 5 min

In less than one week, the best in the world of retail and ecommerce are once again gathering in Boston for the 18th annual eTail East Conference.

As Bostonians and mobile marketing nerds, we love anytime a big conference comes to town that is chock full of brands that are innovating with mobile and driving strong customer engagement and brand loyalty.

Many of those innovative brands will be taking to the stage to share their experiences with other attendees, including executives from L’Oreal, Coca-Cola, Walmart, RueLala, Walgreens, Neiman Marcus, Wayfair, Panera Bread, BaubleBar and Nordstrom Rack.

The eTail agenda can be quite overwhelming, so I took it upon myself to share the three sessions I am most looking forward to. You can thank me later ;)

Case Study Remix: Exploring Engagement Tactics as Customer Expectations Hit An All-Time High
Speaker: Nina Alexander-Hurst, VP Brand Marketing, BaubleBar.
August 15th, Track C: 1:45 PM

Nina Alexander-Hurst is the driving force behind BaubleBar’s SWAT (Service With Accessoring Talent) program, focused on “using new technologies to take the friction out of online shopping and build long-lasting relationships.” BaubleBar has been successful in disrupting how women shop for accessories because the company focuses on a customer-centric approach. This session will highlight how customer feedback plays into the brand’s overall business model and why it is a key to their success.

Redefining Omni-Channel: Bridging the Gap Between Digital and In-Store
Speakers: John Yesko, Sr Director, Walgreens; Adam Kasper, Former VP of Marketing, Bob’s Discount Furniture; Paul Murray, Director, Digital Innovation, Dunkin Brands; Brian Strauss, VP, Worldwide Field Engineering, Moxie
August 15th, Track B: 1:40 PM

This panel session features a stellar group of retailers and will focus on the greatest challenges and successes they’ve had in achieving true omni-channel integration, and how it translates to happier and more engaged customers (and more sales of course!).

Keeping a Mobile First Mindset to Meet Customer Expectations
Speakers: Kristin Smith, Director, Digital Commerce, Chico’s; Alexandra Tanner, AVP, Digital Marketing & eCommerce, L’Oreal; Patricia Césaire, Principal Solutions Consultant, ContentSquare
August 17th, Keynote: 11:40 AM

It’s probably no surprise that this is one of my favorites because it’s all about mobile. I’m particularly excited to hear from Alexandra Tanner at L’Oreal. According to her bio, “Alexandra is passionate about the possibilities that technology will bring to bridge the online and in store experiences in the future, creating a more seamless omnichannel experience for customers.” I couldn’t agree more and look forward to hearing about how L’Oreal is delivering a great mobile experience for its loyal customers.

I hope my recommendations help you when choosing which session to attend.

And one last thing before I lose your attention… SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT!

It can’t be ALL work and no play so if you need a break, join Localytics and some of our favorite partners, BounceX, OMC, Precision Dialogue, and YotPo for a casual night out during eTail East. Just a block away from the conference, come have some nice cold drinks and tasty apps on us on Dillon’s Patio. Want to come? Register here and make sure you say hello on your way in.
